Cushing's Disease: A Dermatologist's Perspective

Cushing's disease is a common endocrinopathy in dogs. Common clinical signs of PU/PD and polyphagia accompanied by an elevated Alkaline phosphatase are often clues to the diagnosis. Other cases, however, present with external changes in haircoat and skin before, or in lieu of these features. This lecture will focus on these differences and the recognition of Cushing's in cases with skin disease as a primary indicator.
