Hypothyroidism in Dermatology?

This Course Is Approved for 1 CE Credit     |     Joel Griffies, DVM, DACVD

Hypothyroidism is a commonly diagnosed endocrinopathy. In fact, it may be the most over diagnosed endocrinopathy in veterinary medicine. But it certainly does exist and may be a component of skin disease in dogs. Understanding what thyroid disorders do and don't do in clinical dermatology is important in deciding whether or not this disease plays a role in clinical cases. This lecture will focus on both clinical and laboratory findings of hypothyroidism and their relevance to dermatologic disease.
