Responsible Use of Antimicrobials in the Face of Resistance

This presentation will outline the main issues of infections caused by antimicrobial resistant pathogens from both a human medicine and veterinary medicine perspective. Drs. Outerbridge and Zhanel will discuss how we got into this mess, as well as a variety of approaches that are being employed to try to deal with and/or slow down the spread of resistant pathogens, in the hospital setting, community setting and environmental setting.
