In the last 15 years, working dogs have achieved new prominence in the United States and abroad; performing a wide variety of tasks. These dogs have been highly visible in search and rescue operations in Oklahoma and at the World Trade Centers and the Pentagon. Working dogs are also used for the detection of drugs and explosives and for security and suspect apprehension.
